Download and install Razer Phone 2 Google Camera port. Google Camera for Razer Phone helps you take better photos on your device even with low light conditions, thanks to night sight!
The original Razer Phone which was launched last year was hauled for the way it performed. It handled everything thrown at it and was super smooth to use courtesy of the display with 120 Hz refresh rate. Though it had great performance, the camera performance wasn’t on point. This year, Razer says it has improved its camera performance with the Razer Phone 2 which was launched last month.
Looking at the camera hardware, the Razer Phone 2 packs in a dual camera setup. The main camera is a 12 MP sensor with a 1.4-micron pixel size that is combined with an optically stabilized f/1.8 lens which has a focal length of 25mm. The secondary camera is another 12 MP sensor with 1-micron pixel size that is combined with A f/2.6 lens capable for 2x optical, lossless zoom.
On paper, the camera hardware looks decent enough to click good enough pictures but in reality, the pictures are decent at best. Many reviewers claimed that the image produced was low in details, under-saturated and had weak dynamic range. Even phones priced lower like the OnePlus 6 and the LG G7 ThinQ click far better images. For three years in a row, Google proved that with better software processing algorithms, their phones with a single rear camera can outperform phones with multiple cameras on the rear. No fancy camera setup, but still insanely great photos. If you happen to own a Razer Phone 2 and want a similar level of image processing, here is how you can achieve that.
Recently TK Bay from XDA TV tried a B-S-G Google Camera mod on the Razer Phone 2 and observed drastic change in the image output. He was able to get much better pictures.
The ports pack in the following features:
The port doesn’t use the second camera so you won’t be able to take 2x optically zoomed shots with this ported app. In case, you want such shots, you can revert back to the default camera app.
Here are a few comparisons between Stock Razer Phone camera and Google Camera:

Open a file manager of your choice and navigate to the copied file.
Tap on the file to install it as normal APK. Note: You may need to enable ‘Unknown sources’ if you haven’t done that already.
And you are done. Congratulations! You just installed the Google Camera port on your Razer Phone 2.
No root or any special steps needed. Once you install the app, you can simply open the app, grant the required permissions and start using it.
These APKs don’t require any additional configuration, but, on top of the usual options (camera sounds, video resolution, etc) there are a few things you can change (explore the settings menu!):
HDR+ parameters: “Default” is enough for most people. Higher settings may produce better photos, especially in hard conditions, but it takes more time to process.
HDR+ image quality: Change the jpg compression (a lower value results in smaller files, but the quality is worse).
HDR+ RAW+JPG: Save RAW files.
Correction of auto-exposure HDR or Auto-Exposure: Controls shutter speed, not 100% stable. Works better in low light and with HDR enhanced enabled.
HDR+ enhanced for portrait mode: Slower, but better portrait photos.
Disable zoom in portrait mode: By default, it zooms in a bit.
Use Nexus6P model: Photos with better details/sharpness (and noisier).
Since slow motion doesn’t work on Oreo, you can hide the option from the menu:
Settings > Advanced > Fix Camera API2 > “Disable video slow motion”
Android Oreo users: if you can’t see your photos from inside Google Camera, go to “Debugging and tools”, uncheck “camera.use_photos” and restart the app.
Options/options names can be changed/removed depending on the version.
